Growing up in Longmont Colorado, Nathan Radich grew up in a household full of music. Raised around the sounds of guitar, piano, flute and trumpet Nathan tried them all before settling on saxophone at the age of ten. Thanks to a burgeoning music program at Lyons Middle/Senior and supportive teachers, Nathan took to his passion quickly and went on to study at the University of Northern Colorado, graduating in 2022.
Here he earned his Bachelors in Saxophone Performance, with a focus in Jazz Performance. He has studied with some of the best teachers and players in the country and played with one of the nations top big bands, UNC Lab 1. With UNC he won a Down Beat award with Lab 1, played with Beb-bop royalty Sheila Jordan, Latin Jazz legend Bobby Sanabria, former Julius Hemphill band member Alex Harding and many more world class players from the worlds of straight ahead jazz to avant-garde and new music.
Since leaving UNC and moving to Denver Colorado, Nathan has played jazz concerts at the top clubs in the city, played with NOLA brass bands, big bands and corporate pop and funk wedding bands. Outside of gigs he has taught music classes at the Academy of Advance Learning to 2nd-8th graders for over two years, coached middle and high school saxophone sections and taught private lessons. He is a passionate teacher and skilled communicator who seeks to help those eager to learn more about music, the saxophone, composition and music theory.
